You’re Invited to Participate in Hometown Tourist Month

Join us at we kick-off Hometown Tourist Month!According to the 2011 University of Louisville’s Urban Studies Institute study commissioned by the Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau nearly 72 percent of visitors came to Louisville for leisure travel with over 5 million visiting friends and family.

Louisville’s Hometown Tourist Celebration (May 6 to 31), has been encouraging those friends and family – YOU – to “be a tourist in their own hometown” for more than a decade.

lot's to doDuring the month, deep discounts at 55 area attractions, 15 hotels and 14 restaurants are valid for anyone with a Kentucky or Indiana ID, local college ID or military ID. For a complete list of participating attractions and discounts visit www.gotolouisville.com/hometowntourist.

New this year – Hometown Quest Scavenger Hunt
New in 2013
Part race, part scavenger hunt and part historical, sight-seeing tour, The Hometown Quest is an activity filled event for both children and adults.

FreeOrganized by The Louisville Quest, this hunt is fun, easy to do and best of all – FREE! Pick up your game cards and complete the scavenger hunt on Saturdays, May 11, 18 or 25 between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Game cards available at the Louisville Visitors Center (4th and Jefferson).

Lime tshirtAnswer challenge questions and solve puzzles at different locations within 60 minutes while taking a tour of downtown Louisville. After completing the scheduled task or activity at each location on the spaces, Stamp Masters will verify the completion of the activities and place an official stamp on the game card. Once all spaces are filled, turn in your completed game card at the Louisville Visitors Center and get a free official Louisville t-shirt.

Want to Get Involved? The Louisville Convention and Visitors Bureau is looking for volunteers to help with a variety of events, meetings and conventions. A variety of positions need to be filled including volunteers at two downtown visitors centers and the Old Louisville visitors center. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and have a passion for Louisville.
