Make no mistake about it, rejection hurts. The person you praise or admire most has had lots of bumps and bruises on his/her way to wherever s/he is in life. As much as rejection hurts, some people simply can’t push past it to get to their destiny … but life is too short to stand still.
I would love to pretend like my path has even been easy, but truthfully I have 3 years worth of law school rejection letters and another year of rejection letters from film school until. Then I finally received ONE acceptance letter into Webster’s Media Communication program, and I’ve walked through every available door since. I’m actually thankful for those rejection letters because now my end goal is more defined; every day is a learning/growing/exploring opportunity. I’m also thankful because my pathway was clouded with wants which would’ve steered me away from my purpose.
There are those who DO push, and they have amazing stories to tell while blazing their amazing trail. To quote #FamousFailures, “If you’ve never failed, then you’ve never tried anything new.”
